On your Blog, write a short review of Harold and Maude. Address your feelings about the movie in terms of  the   main characters  (Harold, Maude, Harold's Mother, Harold's Uncle, Harold's Psychiatrist),  the production (Sets, soundtrack, editing, pacing) and  the story . They both meet by being at funerals. Maude is 79 years young, and Harold is almost an adult. Harold's mother is always trying to find him a companion and make him look good for her benefit. Harold stages many suicidal attempts because he's fascinated with death. It seems that Maude is a Holocaust survivor.  My feelings toward Harold are he is a young adult that is fed-up with his mothers ideals of what she wants him to be, and fakes his death numerous time to try and serve a point, while his mother never stops trying I think Harold's mother is really shallow because she doesn't show a whole lot of attention to Harold, and keeps setting him up with unsuitable dates. 1) What parallels can you draw between this 1947 War Department propaganda and today's current political climate?  There are still the same religions and societies living amongst this day and there are still some racial differences that still play apart, but not as severe. 2) How effective do you think that this video would have been when it was first shown? It would have been really effective because people only saw their side of the story and knowing someone else's would have changed their point of view. 3) How effective do you think that this video is when shown today? It would be mildly effective because there isn't too much discriminating in our current day, when back then the jews and catholics and free masons were all being demolished.  4) If there is a difference, what do you think accounts for it? I think there is a slight difference. Still in this time there are separations in race, society, religion, and much more.
